Some days I wish I could be as spiteful as people I encounter....

It is amazing to me that there are people out there who will go out of their way to make others look bad, feel horrible, jeopardize others jobs simply out of jealousy.  I find the most frustrating part about such acts is that I can never stoop to their level!! Why is that? You would think that, especially if you're the same age, they would have been brought up during the same time, experienced the same things, were taught the same morals and ethics.  My problem is that I'm too trusting which most would say is a positive trait, and maybe in some ways it is but that trait only makes you gullible! Scenario: sitting at work talking with a co-worker who, in some ways, is also a superior, you are following procedures and stop a situation from happening but then that co-worker who is suppose to be a friend reports you to the one person that hates you for no reason except you exist AND the rub?? that same co-worker doesn't even like the other.  An allegation ensues with no resolve for five (5) weeks and now you're out of a job for something that was a result of just doing your job. Whats even better but someone else who holds the same position you do was accused of something WITH WITNESS and was 100% worse than following procedure and not only did they keep their job but they were still allowed to work.  The punchline???  The person who lost their job was a woman and the other? you guessed it!!  A man!  You can not tell me that gender discrimination no longer exists.  The kick, the person who made all the decisions is a FEMALE.  Disgraceful!  Where is Gloria Steinem when you need her?  So now you have to think 'what should I do about this', 'should I report her'?  Now is the time to stand up for whats right, now to grow bullocks and do the right thing the right way.  Isn't that the right thing to do to help others who may find themselves in the same situation?
