What's happened in the last year.....

Hard to believe it has been over a year since my last post.  So let me try to put the events of that year into a cohesive writing.  Well, July 6th, 2009 I had my second Synthes Artificial Disc Replacement but this time it was in my neck (C6-C7).  Below is the implant in a display.  My first implant was in my lumbar (L5-S1) was a little bigger and implanted Sept. 2007.

I actually did very well in my initial recovering., and have done pretty well in the year plus since the surgery.  Most people who suffer from a neck or back injury worry about whether or not the surgery will help or if they even want to have the surgery.  Honestly, with my low back I had no worries, especially since if something did happen and lets say I were ultimately paralyzed I would at least have my upper back and arms, my neck however was a completely different fear because I didn't want to be a quadriplegic.  Thankfully that didn't happen.
